O R G The Nebraska Society of CPAs held its 19th annual Fall CPE Conference Nov. 4-5, 2019, at the Embassy Suites Hotel & Conference Center in La Vista, Neb. Approximately 175 CPAs and accounting and finance professionals attended the two-day event. The conference featured presentations from a wide variety of local and nationally known speakers, including Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts; TraceyGolden, vice chairman of the American Institute of CPAs; and Alfonzo Alexander, chief ethics and diversity officer of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) and president of NASBA’s Center for the Public Trust, among many other distinguished presenters. Day One of the conference included the Society’s Annual Meeting, where the Society’s leadership transition and passing of the gavel occurred. In addition, we congratulated newCPA certificate holders and scholarship recipients, welcomed the Society’s inaugural Leadership Academy class, and honored a few of our outstanding members.
