Conley has joined Sarpy County as the new chief financial officer. In his role, Conley will lead the Fiscal & Budget Department and oversee the county’s annual budget. He began his new position in April, replacing Brian Hanson, who is retiring after more than 33 years with Sarpy County. Steven G. Getzfrid has joined CFO Systems in Omaha to lead a new company, CFO Systems Search & Staffing. Getzfrid brings more than 30 years of varied experience in Big 4 public accounting, private industry, and accounting and finance recruiting. Daniel C. Kinsella , a 20-year Deloitte veteran and partner with Deloitte Risk and Financial Advisory, Deloitte & Touche LLP, has been named managing partner of its Omaha practice. Kinsella succeeds Robert J. Mitchell , a partner with Deloitte Tax LLP, who is retiring next fiscal year after serving as managing partner for five years. In his new role, Kinsella will oversee the local team to help drive client and business growth, and further enhance Deloitte’s strategic positioning in the Omaha market. He will also lead community involvement initiatives, connect with various professional organizations, and continue to maintain his client service responsibilities. Kinsella graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in management information systems. He advises clients in the financial services, energy and resources, and health care and life sciences sectors. He also serves as the U.S. and Americas extended-enterprise and third-party- assurance leader for Deloitte & Touche LLP. Kelly A. Mann of Omaha recently founded Kelly Mann CPA, LLC, a boutique firm that performs employee benefit plan audits. She works in partnership with other CPA firms that do not provide this service for their existing clientele, with the goal of helping the partnering firm retain all other service offerings. Nedrig of Holdrege helped sponsor the first annual Funk School Community Center Trivia Night in April. Six teams competed in the event, with proceeds from the evening helping to pay for a new roof for the Community Center and also assisting with Nebraska Strong disaster relief efforts. Stacy L. Watson of Lutz in Omaha is credited with a legislative proposal (AM 974) that could generate $20 million per year for the state of Nebraska. Watson has been urging state lawmakers to start collecting income taxes from out-of-state firms that earn income in Nebraska via charging franchise fees, doing consulting work, or selling digital products, like music. Four Companies With Society Members Make Omaha’s Best Places to Work List Best Places to Work in Omaha survey founder, Baird Holm LLP, along with program sponsor, the Greater Omaha Chamber, have announced the 2019 Best Places to Work in Omaha winners. The competition measures levels of employee engagement through an online survey. The survey is administered by QuantumWorkplace. In all, 12 companies were recognized at a recent luncheon at CHI Health Center Omaha. Verdant of La Vista ranked third among the 2019 Best Places toWork inOmaha for companies with 25 to 200 employees. Societymembers of Verdant include Stacy L. Kerns and Kenneth A. Schieber. Also ranking among the 2019 Best Places to Work in Omaha was Vetter Health Services Inc. of Elkhorn. The health caremanagement company ranked second in the category of companies with 25 to 200 employees. Aaron J. Dunlap of Vetter is a Society member. Ranking among the 2019 Best Places to Work in Omaha for companies with more than 200 employees was Olsson.
