Marcus L. Augustin, CPA, has been named the new administrator of the Annie Jeffrey Memorial County Health Center in Osceola. He has been the CFO for the Annie Jeffrey Health Center since 2012. Augustin was raised in Osceola and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Marc D. Behrens, CPA, has been promoted to partner at Eide Bailly LLP in Elkhorn. He graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in accounting and joined Seim Johnson in 2010. Seim Johnson became part of Eide Bailly, a top 25 CPA and consulting firm, in July 2022. Behrens has also been a TeamMates Mentor since 2012.

Jesse D. Brickner, CPA, has been promoted to partner at Hancock & Dana PC of Omaha. He has 10 years of experience in the profession. Brickner graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He is a member of the UNO Young Alumni Academy.

Brian J. Gough, CPA, of Gretna has been promoted to partner at Hancock & Dana PC of Omaha. He has nearly 14 years of experience. Gough graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting. He presently serves on the Omaha Estate Planning Council.

Michael D. Hamaker, CPA, has been promoted to partner at Eide Bailly LLP in Elkhorn. He graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and joined Seim Johnson in 2012. Seim Johnson became part of Eide Bailly, a top 25 CPA and consulting firm, in July 2022.

Lane Knott is the only Nebraskan and one of 50 individuals nationwide who have met the criteria to receive the prestigious Elijah Watt Sells Award. Knott graduated with a Bachelor of Science in accounting and a Master of Professional Accountancy from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is employed by Labenz & Associates LLC in Lincoln.

This award is presented by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). To qualify for the award, CPA candidates must obtain a cumulative average score above 95.50 across all four sections of the Uniform CPA Exam, pass all four sections on their first attempt, and have completed testing in 2022. Of the nearly 67,000 individuals who sat for the CPA Exam in 2022, only 50 candidates met the criteria to receive the Elijah Watt Sells Award.

The award program was established by the AICPA in 1923 to recognize outstanding performance on the CPA Exam. Sells, one of the first CPAs in the U.S., was active in the establishment of the AICPA and played a key role in advancing education within the profession.

Stephanie L. Lindburg, CPA, of Gretna has been promoted to manager after joining Hancock & Dana PC in Omaha in 2021. She has worked in the accounting profession for 10 years. Lindburg graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Nebraska Wesleyan University.

Kelly A. Mann, CPA, of Omaha has been selected as one of the Most Powerful Women in Accounting for 2023. She is the CEO and co-founder of AuditMiner.

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and CPA Practice Advisor announced Mann as one of the 25 recipients of the 12th annual Most Powerful Women in Accounting awards at a ceremony at Dolby Live Stage at the Park MGM Casino during the AICPA ENGAGE conference in Las Vegas on June 6. Women who are recognized with this award have emerged as the most influential leaders shaping the profession.

Mann has served on the Nebraska Society of CPAs’ Accounting Careers, Not-For-Profit, and Women in Accounting committees. Her company, AuditMiner, launched in April 2021 to improve the quality and efficiency of the employee benefit plan audit process. The company has grown from two employees to 14. To date, AuditMiner has processed more than 700 plans with customers in over 37 states.

Connor D. Mullen, CPA, has been promoted to partner at Hancock & Dana PC in Omaha. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Creighton University, he joined Hancock & Dana in 2012.

Eric A. Oman, CPA, has been promoted to manager at Hancock & Dana PC in Omaha. He has been with the firm since 2018. Oman graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Professional Accountancy.

Daniel J. “Dan” Torczon, CPA, has been appointed managing partner of Hancock & Dana PC in Omaha. Torczon joined the firm in 2016 and has more than 15 years of accounting experience. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Creighton University and currently serves on the Creighton University Accounting Advisory Board. Torczon is also treasurer for the Heart Ministry Center Board.

Beth L. Tyler, CPA, has been promoted to partner at Hancock & Dana PC in Omaha. She has more than 10 years of experience in the accounting profession and has been with the firm for two years. Tyler graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting. She presently serves on the Nebraska Society of CPAs’ Accounting Careers Committee.

Susan K. “Sue” Wilkinson, CPA, has been appointed to president and chief operating officer of Ameritas in Lincoln, effective Jan. 2, 2023. Wilkinson joined Ameritas as a corporate accountant in 1995 and has held various leadership roles over the years. She was elected executive vice president, chief financial officer, and treasurer in 2018. In 2020, Wilkinson received the Nebraska Society of CPAs’ Outstanding CPA in Business & Industry Award.
