Social Networking
The Society participates in the world of social media to help build online connections with our members and the general public.
Social media allows the Society to reach people we wouldn’t otherwise reach, to promote the CPA profession and the positive role CPAs play in our state and communities, and to magnify the voice of the CPA profession.
Responding to the Media
The Society is at times called upon by the media to respond to accounting and business issues. Interviews by Society officers help ensure the profession is represented and contribute to a better understanding of accounting and business issues. These interviews give the Society an opportunity to enhance the image of CPAs by stressing the roles they play within their communities and the state.
Promoting the Profession
Through presentations, career fairs, and participation in related efforts, the Society addresses long-term workforce needs by introducing Nebraska high school and college students to the diverse opportunities available in the accounting profession. In 2025, the Society and Foundation worked with redthread, a Lincoln, Neb.,-based creative marketing and ad agency, to develop a microsite, video, and digital ads to influence students (and their parents) to consider accounting as a career.
